Dean’s Message
![]()
Recently I notified University Provost Milton Glick that I plan to retire in June 2006. By that time, I will have been at ASU for 12 memorable years and in higher education for 43.

Dean Wills
As I complete my time at ASU, I am excited and encouraged by the possibilities that lie ahead for the Herberger College. A new Fine Arts Complex is on the horizon, and endless possibilities abound with the recent announcement of a $50,000 challenge initiated by Tempe native and former ASU student Ira A. Fulton.
Because I truly believe in the Fulton Challenge’s ability to increase philanthropic support for the Herberger College, I have committed my own personal gift. Contributions can be earmarked to assist any of the six academic units in the Herberger College, through a Dean’s Investment Fund that will be utilized by my successor in support of the most essential needs facing the College of Fine Arts. With your generosity and Mr. Fulton’s match, the fund could total $100,000, representing much-needed financial support for programs and student opportunities.
It is with great excitement that I look toward the College of Fine Arts’ future. I hope you will share in this enthusiasm, supporting your alma mater in any way you can. Every dollar will provide new opportunities for our students and ensure the future success of our programs.
J. Robert Wills, Dean
