Keys tradition revived with an evening of jazz

Dan and Chris BrubeckThe elegant Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix, was the site for the 2004 Keys to the Future event that showcased the Brubeck Brother All-Star Quintet in a performance following a cocktail reception and dinner. The March 5 fundraiser headlined two talented sons of legendary Dave Brubeck – Chris and Dan – with three of their favorite jazz musicians: Joel Brown, guitar and vocals, Peter “Madcat” Ruth, harmonica and vocal, and Earle Weatherwax, piano.

Keys to the Future is an initiative to raise $1.2 million to pay for the purchase of pianos for the college’s School of Music. Previous events have featured pianist Roger Williams, singer and actor Rosemary Clooney, composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch, and pianist Peter Nero.
