statement

The voice of Herberger College of Fine Arts alumna Brenda Strong (B.M., performance, 2005) is perhaps one of the most recognizable voices on television. She narrates the hit ABC drama Desperate Housewives and makes occasional appearances in flashback scenes as the late Mary Alice. In addition to her work on Desperate Housewives, Strong has numerous other TV, film and stage credits, including a high-profile, recurring role on Seinfeld.

Another alumnus, Randy Noojin (B.F.A. drawing and painting, 2005), saw his play Unbeatable Harold turned into a major motion picture, which had its world premier at HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival-Aspen in March 2006. The comedic tale of an Elvis impersonator who meets the love of his life, the best waitress in the West, was directed by Ari Palitz and starred Gordon Michaels in the title role. Michaels also adapted the screenplay. The film also starred Dylan McDermott, Henry Winkler, Charles Durning, Phyllis Diller, Gladys Knight and the late Nicole DeHuff.
