The Tour Bus

The Tour Bus is a touring theatre company incorporated in the ASU Herberger College School of Theatre and Film and is committed to producing quality theatre productions and education programs that reflect the diversity, issues and interests of young people and their families living in the metropolitan Phoenix area.

The program was created in 2003 by Theatre for Youth graduate students who wanted to have a class that could provide an understanding of the theories and aesthetics of touring theatre.  The class was also conceived as a way to provide a practical experience in the conceptualization, creation, administration and production of a touring theatre piece.

Since 2003, the Tour Bus has produced four different productions for students in first grade through high school, with themes ranging from diversity issues to communities in crisis to Internet predation.  Although the topics may sometimes be serious or educational, the aim is to create artistically engaging and entertaining theatre that encourages dialogue among students, their teachers and their families.
