INFORMATION ABOUT THE FIRST EDITION
The catalogue for Sig-alert takes a similar alternative approach as the exhibition. An essay by John D. Spiak (curator of the exhibition) gives an overview of and insight into the work and artists in the exhibition. The catalogue documents the history of the Los Angeles art scene with an essay by Kathleen Vanesian (art critic and part-time Los Angeles resident).

What makes this catalogue different from the catalogues currently produced by the Museum is its format. The catalogue for the exhibition is produced in HTML code. Each page of the publication is designed as a separate webpage. The catalogue is designed to be printed out.

This is the Museum's cost-effective and fresh approach to the traditional museum publication. The catalogue will not be sold, but is available to individuals anywhere in the world who have access to the internet.

Thank you to Smart Art Press, Santa Monica, CA. for their support of this exhibition. Please visit the SMART ART PRESS WEBSITE to learn more about their publications.
